Bays, estuaries and harbors are areas influenced by the ebb and flow of the tides. They are generally protected to a certain extent from open ocean influences through natural or man-made structures.

REESE Water & Land Surveys has provided surveys for clients in tidal bays, estuaries and harbors for various purposes. Surveys of the benthic surfaces in these waters may require inclusion of tide variations before, during and after the surveys, depending on methodology for survey. Often, these surveys are for pre-, progress and post-dredging surveys for dredging contractors, or eel grass mitigation projects, or to assess navigability of marina approach channels.
